Please read this topic first.

And now post in this topic if you've found somewhere that has reviewed CMS's but forgotten to mention ocPortal.

The staff will be reading your posts and we'll repeat your link in the above topic if we think it's a good case for requiring some community advocacy.

I run Otaku Play Ground and am hopping to make themes and other things for ocportal even though I no longer use it for otakuplayground.com I still love it and feel it could go far with the right help. It needs themes and needs people to advertise for it.

Another thing I am going to do is add you to my affiliate thing that I will be setting up on both sites when I get done with a few other improvements.

Oh and I keep a link to ocportal in my siggy at ipb, trying to get as many people to convert as I can.

Oh and hopefully with the theme site if I make themes for you as well as the other scripts and put themes on my site as well as download sites for those forums it might help in getting more people interested in ocportal.

Thanks SoccerDad :). We're going to contact the webmasters of these sites ourselves and hopefully get some two-way involvement going on.

I made my post on the site Chris mentioned.

Introducing Joomla - Page 2 - SitePoint Forums

me said

I my self have tried joomla, mamba, drupal and many others.
Joomla in my opinion is a over rated article system not a cms.

The only cms that has met my needs and one I feel is the best cms evercreated is ocportal. It even has an owner that would be a level 5company owner according to the good to great book by Jim collin's. Ifyou have not read good to great a level 5 company owner is the bestkind of company owner.

Any way I do feel ocportal is the best and I have not yet seen any cms better.

I certainly have read "Good to Great" by Mr Collins (actually saw a very good interview with him and Bill Hybels). I will have to take a look at ocportal - not heard of it before.

I made another post on there.

I do agree each cms is a tool and you should get one that meets your needs.
OCportal meets all my needs and more. They work very hard on making it work for every one, mainly by making it very customizable.
I will admit it does not have very many themes but I my self am working on making a few although not very fast as I am no expert on making skins and more or less learning as I go but you have to start some where.

I will admit there are 2 other cms that come close to offering what I am looking for in a cms. One being mkportal and the other being bitweaver. Bitweaver runs very well and has a lot of the same features as ocportal and also does lack themes, one of the things it falls short of is forum integration which I need.
Mkportal on the other had does have the forum integration and also has a lot of the same features but its biggest drew back is it is a cpu hog as well as does not work very well for people using a mac.

I run Otaku Play Ground and am hopping to make themes and other things for ocportal even though I no longer use it for otakuplayground.com I still love it and feel it could go far with the right help. It needs themes and needs people to advertise for it.

I looked at the site Allen linked to and found this.

You can easily write the app packs yourself with little-to-no coding knowledge.

Because of the support required for all the applications, updating new versions, etc, we have opted for it being a community ran operation. People will post app packs for all sorts of apps, versions and custom changes - for everyone to download.
